Congratulations to Captain Thaddeus Ovcarich recipient of the City of Coral Gables “Firefighter of the Year Award,” for 2023.

Captain Ovcarich has been selected as the “2023 Firefighter of the Year” for his meritorious display of job performance, specifically, for his actions in making sure anything asked of you is done in a timely and efficient manner.
He is the father of Station 1’s B shift and he always makes sure the kitchen runs smoothly, as well as the benevolent and many other tasks.
We thank Captain Ovcarich for representing the Coral Gables Fire Department and the City of Coral Gables so admirably and for making us proud.
