Body

On July 26, 2021, the City entered into an agreement for the design, fabrication, transportation, and installation of a unique and original work of art at 2151 Salzedo Street, Coral Gables.

After meeting and reviewing the initial design with the Police Chief and Fire Chief, it was decided that additional elements would greatly enhance the memorial, including incorporation of emblems, lighting the emblems, and providing for a protective cover.

The additional scope includes design, engineering, materials, and additional utility work to accommodate the Changes in Scope.

Resulting from the Change in Scope, challenges with the timeline included solidifying stone fabrication and locking in a new schedule with fabricators and sub-contractors.

The Change in Scope is an increase of $75,000 and is being requested through the Art Fund during fiscal year 2022-2023 for a total compensation to the artist in the amount of $525,000.
