Arts Advisory Panel Meeting of February 16, 2022.

Arts Advisory Panel members met at the corner of Miracle Mile and Le Jeune Road. They walked and discussed various opportunities and locations for activation for public art along Miracle Mile. Ideas discussed included:
• Supporting the exhibition of temporary artworks through the Coral Gables Museum in the wider, open areas, especially along the 200-300 blocks.
• Offering Exhibition of artwork by the same artist on a rotating basis at the four corners of Miracle Mile and Ponce de Leon, possibly as part of the above.
• Renting commercial space for an art activation space where classes, studio space, and exhibition could happen, potentially in collaboration with an area University arts program.
• Positioning a raised, permanent plinth for rotating artworks in an area that could be established as a plaza and focal point for artwork.
• Possible use of existing kiosks on Miracle Mile for new media artworks in partnership with an area high school arts program.
• Installing a permanent media screen for rotating artworks in a paseo between Garage 1 (and forthcoming Mobility Hub) and Miracle Mile in partnership with private building owner(s).
• Installing permanent (ceiling) light-based artwork in the paseos connecting to Miracle Mile in partnership with private building owner(s).
