Title

A Resolution of the City Commission approving entering into an agreement with Adwave Signs to design, fabricate, and install signage for public artworks throughout the City; and authorizing an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Adopted Budget to transfer up to $80,000 from the Art in Public Places fund balance and appropriating such funds to cover contract fees and reimbursable expenses.

Body

Public artwork in the City’s collection requires uniform signage that is ADA compliant.

It is in the best interest of the City to have on-site signage at the artworks that is in English and Spanish, includes braille, and facilitates access to additional information.

A Request for Proposals (RFP) was published and announced on the City’s website for the design, fabrication, and installation of signage for the City’s public art collection.

After a nominal response to the initial RFP, a selection of qualified sign companies was approached and the RFP deadline was extended to encourage greater response to the opportunity.

One sign professional was responsive and submitted initial design concepts that complied with the RFP.

Funding for the public art signage with Adwave Signs is estimated at $70,500 and is being proposed through the art acquisition fund. Additional expenses are anticipated to cover permit fees.

An amendment to the Adopted Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Budget is required to transfer $80,000 from the Art in Public Places fund balance and appropriate such funds to put toward this project.
