Information Technology Presentation of Coral Gables’ New Smart City Pole.

The City of Coral Gables is implementing an innovative smart city pole with award-winning patented technology and consolidated/integrated aerodynamic, aesthetically pleasing all-in-one design, which leverages aerospace engineering and science of material principles.
This smart pole is the first of its kind, and was engineered specifically for Coral Gables. It incorporates in the custom design our city's ASCE 7-10 standard and FL building code wind load requirements, and smart city telecommunications and IoT technology and interoperability requirements.
This product won innovation awards at CES 2020 and CES 2021.
Our first pilot of this new technology will be installed this year in the Downtown Financial corridor, at the intersection of Alhambra Cir and Ponce de Leon.
Some of the services that will be consolidated in this pole are: public free Wi-Fi, CCTV, traffic sensors (vehicle counters, pedestrian counters, safety, geofence ALPR), and environmental sensors (air quality, noise).
This technology will be a valuable addition to Coral Gables award-winning smart city technology service portfolio, which already includes similar technologies distributed in multiple nodes and areas in our City, providing insight and actionable information for public safety, traffic safety, emergency management, economic development, environmental sustainability, urban planning, academic research, and other applications.
