Title

Congratulations to Firefighter Christopher Ayala recipient of the City of Coral Gables “Firefighter of the Month Award,” for the month of February 2021.

Body

Firefighter Christopher Ayala has been selected February’s Firefighter of the Month for his outstanding display of individual initiative surpassing job requirements and concern for the department, specifically for his knowledge of EMS protocol and how he operates on rescue calls. Firefighter Ayala seems to be a walking encyclopedia of knowledge when it comes to medication and medical treatment and he loves to share his knowledge with all the new firefighters. We have experienced a number of cardiac arrest emergencies where he has been the acting Lieutenant and before any guidance could be given to him on running the code, he already initiated the proper treatment and began his medical report to properly document the incident. Furthermore, he has been a member of the SRT competitive team and enjoys teaching all new probationary and seasoned firefighters everything he knows and learns when dealing with extrication tools.

Despite the overwhelming amount of work that everyone has, Firefighter Ayala consistently finds ways to help his co-workers and keeps training with all firefighters.  His willingness to assist others and his commitment to educating all firefighter is unequaled.

Firefighter Christopher Ayala is well deserving of this honor and we congratulate him for his efforts.
