Body

The State of Florida and Federal Emergency Management Agency require local governments to adopt an approved Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) every five years.   This allows for receive, expend and sub-award mitigation grant funds under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP); Business Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC); Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) and Community Development Block Grant - Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) programs.

A letter from the State of Florida was received on August 27, 2020 notifying the County that their LMS Plan has been approved and is awaiting action on the part of Miami-Dade County and its Municipalities for final adoption.
