A Resolution of the City of Coral Gables, Florida, relating to the Collection and disposal of Solid Waste and Recyclable Materials in the City of Coral Gables, Florida; reimposing Solid Waste Service Assessments again assessed property located within the City of Coral Gables, Florida, for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2020; approving the rate of assessment; approving the Solid Waste Assessment Roll; and providing an effective date.

The Amended and Restated Initial Assessment Resolution (Resolution No. 2016-149) was adopted on June 14, 2016, and the Amended and Restated Final Assessment Resolution (Resolution No. 2016-207) was adopted on September 13, 2016. The Master Service Assessment Ordinance (No. 2015-09) was adopted on May 26, 2015.
On June 9, 2020, the City adopted the Preliminary Assessment Resolution (Resolution No. 2020-139), which initiated the process for the annual imposition of the Solid Waste Service Assessments and established the following rates for solid waste collection and disposal services for the Fiscal Year beginning October 1, 2020, which were increased from the prior year:
Early Payment Single Family - From $762 to $766
Early Payment Auxiliary Units - From $381 to $383
Regular Payment Single Family - From $894 to $898
Regular Payment Auxiliary Units - From $447 to $449
Residential property owners were allowed to prepay the discounted annual rate by August 15, 2020, and be removed from the assessment roll. All required notices have been provided to affected property owners in accordance with the Master Service Assessment Ordinance and the Preliminary Assessment Resolution.
Pursuant to the Master Service Assessment Ordinance, the final step for the imposition of the solid waste assessments is the adoption of an Annual Assessment Resolution.
