The Initial Assessment Resolution (Resolution Number 2009-231) was adopted August 25, 2009, and the Final Assessment Resolution (Resolution Number 2009-267) was adopted September 22, 2009. Ordinance Number 2009-37 was adopted August 25, 2009 authorizing the imposition and collection of fire protection assessments, but was replaced with the Master Service Assessment Ordinance in 2015 (No. 2015-09).
On June 9, 2020, the City adopted the Preliminary Assessment Resolution (Resolution No.2020-127), which initiated the process for the annual imposition of Fire Protection Assessments. There are no changes in the proposed Fire Protection Assessment rates for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2020.
Pursuant to the Master Service Assessment Ordinance, the final step for the imposition of the solid waste assessments is the adoption of an Annual Assessment Resolution. The Annual Assessment Resolution establishes the rates of assessment and approves the Assessment Roll for the upcoming Fiscal Year, with such amendments as the City Commission deems appropriate, after hearing comments and objections of all interested parties. This resolution is the Annual Assessment Resolution.
