A Resolution accepting a grant for financial assistance in the amount of $100,000 from the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) for stormwater improvements and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement with DEP for said financial assistance under FDEP Agreement No. LPA0009; and authorizing an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2019-2020 annual budget to recognize the grant funds as revenue and to appropriate such funds to cover the cost of the grant expenditures.

Upon evaluating the City’s stormwater system’s components, it was determined the area of Sunrise Harbour is in need of improvement. The majority of the French drains have been compromised due to root intrusion and are beyond repairs. In addition, many of the existing structures functioning as catch basin have been found to be inadequate.
This grant will allow the City to design and construct exfiltration trenches, catch basins, and manholes at the most critical locations within this community. The project will also include restoration and asphalt resurfacing of the existing roadway surfaces impacted by the drainage improvements.
In order to receive said financial assistance, the City must enter into an agreement with the Florida Division of Emergency Management.
