A Resolution accepting the recommendation to waive the competitive process of the Procurement Code for the purchase of equipment for the Police Department from Special Ops Tactical as a “Sole Source Procurement,” pursuant to Section 2-689 of the City’s Procurement Code.
Body
The Police Department recently evaluated its Rifle Program and determined the need for the replacement and expansion of its inventory. Funds for this purpose were allocated by the City in Fiscal Year 2019 and re-appropriated to Fiscal Year 2020 following a final determination and selection of the most appropriate equipment for the program.
Upon an evaluation of equipment from multiple vendors, the Police Department selected equipment from Special Ops Tactical. Special Ops Tactical is the patent holder and sole provider of the selected equipment in the amount of $72,875.00.
Under Section 2-689 of the Procurement Code, entitled “Sole Source Procurement,” an award may be made without competitive bids when there is only one source available to fulfill the needs of the City.
