On January 28th, 2020. Ofc. Denham received a call on her cell phone from a resident that resides on Mariola Court. Officer Denham had built a rapport with the resident by helping them the past few months while moving into their home. The resident advised Ofc. Denham via cellphone that he had just receive a call from Chase Bank that his new credit card will be delivered to his home on that date January 28. The resident advised the bank that he did not order a new card and to cancel the card. Chase told him it is already being delivered. Ofc. Denham immediately without hesitation headed to the victim's home to see if the package had arrived since the victim was out of town. Upon arrival Ofc. Denham contacted two maintenance workers that were at the victim's house and asked them if a sma11 package was delivered to the home. They advised that no one had delivered anything. Ofc. Denham asked the workers if something gets delivered or anyone comes looking for a package to please call the police department. Since the two workers were a little hesitant about calling the police, Ofc. Denham provided them with her cell phone number. At approximately 1605 the workers called Ofc. Denham' s cell where they advised her that a couple of people just pulled up and they stated that they are looking for a package that was delivered to this home which that was formerly their residence. Ofc. Denham immediately hung up and contacted dispatch and Sgt. Aleman. Units arrived at the location finding only the female suspect and was taken into custody. Further investigation by CID units revealed that the same incident occurred at another location in the city. Cases 20-635 and 20-664 were closed.
