The Coral Gables Advisory Board on Disability Affairs (the “Board”) is urging that the City continue to host and organize Adventure Day for All, an event which raises
disability awareness, embraces people of all abilities and in the past has been held during disability awareness month (October).
The City is committed in fostering inclusion in our community - to that end the staff recommends that the City continue to host and organize Adventure Day for All every October to promote and support inclusion and full and effective participation of individuals with disabilities.
The approximate cost of this event is $22,000.00.
Attached hereto are the following for the event that was held on October 13, 2019: advertisement flyer, stage line-up and the event planning map.
The Board advises and provides input to City staff regarding matters affecting individuals with disabilities in an effort to support inclusion and full and effective participation
of individuals with disabilities within the City. Every October the City issues a Proclamation proclaiming the month of October “Americans with Disabilities Month in Coral Gables".
In June 2018, the Board passed a resolution recommending that the City host and organize Adventure Day for All, a disability awareness event during disability awareness month (October).
The City Commission supported the Board’s resolution and the City has hosted and organized Adventure Day for All the past two years.
