Driver Engineer Phil Lopez has been selected September’s Firefighter of the Month for his meritorious display of job performance, specifically for being a model of consistency his entire career. D/E Lopez is a 29-year veteran. Driver Engineer Lopez has proven to be a resource to new and old drivers alike. His knowledge and experience have made him a true asset to the department. Driver Engineer Lopez is not only the consummate professional, but he is also great at keeping morale high at all times. His quick wit and attention to detail keeps everyone on their toes.
Recently he was selected to help design our newest pumper, where he was instrumental in coming up with great ideas to make the engine truly one of a kind. His experience as a driver and air tech was a huge help in the endeavor.
Driver Engineer Lopez is weeks away from retirement yet his work ethic and leadership are prevalent everyday he comes to work. We are thankful for his contributions not only to vehicle 70 but also to the entire organization.
Driver Engineer Phil Lopez is well deserving of this honor and we congratulate him for his efforts.
