A Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Procurement Officer to award the Citywide Tree Trimming Services contract to Superior Landscaping & Lawn Service, Inc., the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, in the estimated amount of $1,169,294.00, annually, not to exceed the available budget, pursuant to Invitation for Bids (IFB) 2019-042 and Section 2-763 of the Procurement Code entitled “Contract Award”

The purpose of this Invitation for Bids is to engage a qualified and experienced bidder with the necessary personnel, equipment, and tools to provide Citywide Tree Trimming Services. The bidder will be required to perform maintenance of trees and selected shrubbery, vines and brush in the public right-of-ways, parks, parking lots and around public buildings as specified herein.
On September 25, 2019, the Procurement Division of Finance formally advertised, issued and distributed IFB 2019-042 for Citywide Tree Trimming Services. Thereafter, on October 2, 2019, a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting was held with seven (7) prospective firms in attendance, of the forty-three (43) prospective bidders who downloaded the IFB package from Public Purchase, the City’s web based e-Procurement service.
On October 23, 2019, four (4) bids were received in response to the IFB: SFM Services, Inc., Sherlock Tree Company, Inc., Superior Landscaping & Lawn Service, Inc., and Trees, LLC.
The Public Works Department concurs with the Procurement Officer’s recommendation to award a contract for Citywide Tree Trimming Services to Superior Landscaping & Lawn Service, Inc., the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, in the estimated annual amount of $1,169,240.00.
