The City of Coral Gables is proud to recognize our second certified Coral Gables Green Business, Barakat Law.
Barakat Law was founded in 2006 and is located at 2701 Ponce De Leon. Barakat Law focuses on business matters such as partnership disputes, non-competes, corporate litigation, breach of contract and financial fraud. Barakat Law is a paperless law firm/office. As a part of their company’s core values they look at different ways to reduce their operational impact on the environment including looking at waste minimization (recycling, eliminated single use items in the office) and energy conservation (use power-strips and daylighting) and encourage the use of alternative transportation (telecommute, encourage employees to bike to work, use ride share services, carpool, etc.). The Coral Gables Green Business Program was created in collaboration with the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce <https://coralgableschamber.org/> and the City’s Sustainability Advisory Board <https://www.coralgables.com/sab>. It aligns with the City’s sustainability goals of reducing energy, water, fuel consumption, and waste while increasing recycling efforts, alternative transportation and sustainability education and outreach. The goal of the program is to recognize and reward our local businesses for all their sustainability efforts while also educating them on additional actions they can implement. Together, the City of Coral Gables and our local businesses are creating a more resilient and sustainable Coral Gables for current and future generations.
