Body

An application for a temporary exhibition of a single sculpture by Carlos Albert was received by the City from the property owners of 2655 Le Jeune Road for a thirteen-month period from the end of November 2019 through December 2020.

The request is for installation on private property that is in a prominent, accessible, and frequently used plaza at 2655 Le Jeune Road on the corner of Le Jeune Road and Valencia Avenue.

The artwork is in the process of being created and will resemble similar works of the artist as a large-scale, vertical, steel, geometric sculpture anticipated to be red.

Funding for the artwork, exhibition, installation, permits, related fees, and de-installation are being provided through private funds of the requestor.

The Arts Advisory Panel voted unanimously (6-0) to recommend approval of a temporary public exhibition of an artwork by Carlos Albert to the Cultural Development Board at their meeting on May 29, 2019.

The Cultural Development Board voted (5-1) to recommend approval of a temporary public exhibition of an artwork by Carlos Albert to the City Commission at their meeting on June 4, 2019.
