Title

Congratulations to Efrain Fleites who holds the title IT Network Analyst I, recipient of the "Employee of the Month Award," for the month of September, 2019.

Body

The nomination was submitted by Gisela Rodriguez who stated the following:

Efrain Fleites started with the City of Coral Gables as a part-time Technician on the Network Division in January 2017. His outstanding productivity, customer service, technical skills, knowledge and hard work rapidly took Efrain to his full-time position in April 2018. His quick and reliable solutions have led to the successful completion of several major projects. He provides excellent customer services and is often priced by customers and end users.

I.T. was requested to provide CCTV coverage for the Tree lighting ceremony at Merrick Park. There several challenges such as unavailability of power and connectivity which are needed for CCTV to work. Efrain came up with the solution of setting up wireless solar Ring cameras around the park. He then setup a wireless access point to connect the cameras to Wi-Fi. This gave Police a bird's eye view of the park and increased public safety.

Efrain was tasked to resolve ongoing reliability issues with legacy CCTV at the County Club Prado and at Journey's end remote sites. He evaluated, tested and deployed a disruptive CCTV solution made by Verkada Inc. The solution resolved the issues and brought so much value that it became the new standard for remote CCTV deployments.

Efrain has also been involved in the research and deployment of the City’s CCTV, ALPR trailers, CIC and many other projects. He is a team player and a key member of the Network and Security division. The I.T. department is glad to have him as part of our team.”
