A Resolution accepting a recommendation of the City Manager to waive the competitive process of the Procurement Code for the purchase of a Wastewater Pump for City 3 Pump Station from Xylem Water Solutions USA, Inc. as a “Sole Source Procurement”, pursuant to Section 2-689 of the City’s Procurement Code.

The pumps at City 3 Pump Station needs replacement due to damage resulting from Hurricane Irma.
This pump is a component of a larger pump station system that is specifically designed to operate within parameters which are unique to that station. Per Pump Station Design Plans the pumps will be replaced by 45 HP FLYGT brand. The replacement cost for this pump is $127,363.89. Any other type of pump will result in additional cost for design and other changes to the pump station system that would not be in the best interest of the City.
Xylem Water Solutions USA Inc. owns the Flygt Corporation and is the only authorized vendor for Flygt Products and OEM Parts. Xylem is also the only authorized service repair and warranty organization in the State of Florida.
Under Section 2-689 of the Procurement Code, entitled “Sole Source Procurement,” an award may be made without competitive bids when there is only one source available to fulfill the needs of the City
