Title

A Resolution accepting a recommendation to waive the competitive process of the Procurement Code for the purchase of three (3) LifePak15 Cardiac Monitors from Stryker (Physio Control) as a “Sole Source Procurement”, pursuant to Section 2-689 of the City’s Procurement Code.

Body

Coral Gables currently own the multiple LifePak machines. These monitors are currently on all Advance Life Support units and utilized for life saving measures. The (3) LifePak15 monitors will replace (3) of the current outdated LifePak12s. The current LifePak12 cardiac monitors; will no longer be serviceable after April 2020. The replacement cost for these LifePak15s is $69,365.28. It would not be in the best interest of the City not to replace the LifePak12s.

Styker is the sole source provider of this equipment. 

Under Section 2-689 of the Procurement Code, entitled “Sole Source Procurement,” an award may be made without competitive bids when there is only one source available to fulfill the needs of the City.
