A Resolution accepting a recommendation to waive the competitive process of the Procurement Code for the purchase of a Wastewater Pump for Solano Prado 1 Pump Station from Hydra Service Inc. as a “Sole Source Procurement”, pursuant to Section 2-689 of the City’s Procurement Code.
Body
The pump at Solano Prado 1 Pump Station needs replacement due to damage resulting from Hurricane Irma.
This pump is a component of a larger pump station system that is specifically designed to operate within parameters which are unique to that station. The pump that requires replacement is a 47 HP Sulzer brand and must be replaced in-kind with the same brand. The replacement cost for this pump is $27,122. Any other brand will result in additional cost for design and other changes to the pump station system that would not be in the best interest of the City.
Hydra Service, Inc.is the exclusive supplier of Sulzer equipment for the State of Florida.
Under Section 2-689 of the Procurement Code, entitled “Sole Source Procurement,” an award may be made without competitive bids when there is only one source available to fulfill the needs of the City.
