Resolution authorizing Satchmo Blues Bar and Grill, Inc. to sell alcoholic beverages and to authorize waiver of special event code Section 62-260 allowing the above mentioned applicant to operate from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the Plaza located at 60 Merrick Way from Tuesday, July 2, 2019 through Sunday, July 7, 2019, during the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup Celebration and 2019 Copa America watch party to benefit the Coral Gables Cultural Affairs Council, subject to Florida Department of Professional Regulation Requirements.

Satchmo Blues Bar and Grill, Inc. requests approval to serve alcoholic beverages during the celebration of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Coral Gables.
The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup Watch Party and Copa America Watch Party will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 1100 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, through Sunday, July 7, 2019. All viewing events are scheduled to end by 9:00 p.m., Partial proceeds will be donated to the Coral Gables Cultural Affairs Council.
This request is for an event that is greater than four consecutive days and also takes place on several days of the week which requires a waiver of City Code section 62-260, (b) Maximum length of events: No single special event or parade shall be conducted for more than four consecutive days. No single special event or parade shall be conducted on any consecutive days of the week other than Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
This request follows the laws of the State of Florida and has been reviewed by the City’s Special Events Committee.
