A Resolution approving the acquisition of Locution Annunciator System to retrofit the new Fire Station 2.

The City of Coral Gables Fire Department uses Locution, an automated voice announcement system, for the dispatching of Fire staff, vehicles, and apparatus when responding to emergency, 911 events. Locution is used across all the Fire Stations operated and manned by City Public Safety.
Locution was purchased in 2013 to support the Fire Department CAD/Voice PA system at all Fire Stations. The system is required to support the operations of the new Fire Station 2.
Locution; its products, services, support, and peripherals can only be purchased and supported by Locution Systems, Inc. As such, Locution, Inc. is the sole provider of maintenance and support services for the product.
The City is purchasing the current, up to date Locution products and materials for Fire Station 2 for an implementation cost of $72,815. A recurring, annual cost of $4,081 is assessed in year 1, and thereafter.
The one-time cost of the Locution agreement exceeds the normal procurement threshold of $25,000, and so requires commission approval.
