A Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Procurement Officer to award the purchase of an Aquatic Weed/Trash Skimmer Vessel to Aquarius Systems - A Division of D&D Products, Inc., the most responsive-responsible bidder, in the amount of $340,914.00, pursuant to Invitation for Bids (IFB) 2019-004 and section 2-763 of the procurement code entitled “Contract Award”.
Body
The purpose of this Invitation for Bids is to purchase an Aquatic Weed/Trash Skimmer Vessel and a trailer for vessel transportation for the Public Works Department. The Vessel is intended to retrieve a wide variety of manmade and organic floating debris, including but not limited to: floating aquatic weed, litter, tires, leaves, timber, branches, coconuts, logs, lightweight household-type cups, cans, bottles, paper, Styrofoam, plastic bags, and any miscellaneous debris commonly found in waterways.
On February 13, 2019, the Procurement Division of Finance formally advertised, issued and distributed the IFB for the purchase of an Aquatic Weed/Trash Skimmer Vessel. Eighteen (18) prospective bidders downloaded the IFB package from Public Purchase, the City’s web based e-Procurement service.
On February 28, 2019, three (3) bids were received in response to the IFB 2019-004 from: Aquarius Systems - A Division of D&D Products, Inc., Barber Welding, Inc., d/b/a Alpha Boats Unlimited, Weedoo Greenboat, Inc.
The most responsive responsible bidder for this purchase was determined to be Aquarius Systems - A Division of D&D Products, Inc., in the amount of $340,914.00. The Public Works Department and the Procurement Officer recommend awarding the purchase of an Aquatic Weed/Trash Skimmer Vessel to Aquarius Systems - A Division of D&D Products, Inc.
Additionally, the department is requesting approval to purchase additional units based on the availability of funds for a period of one (1) year from the execution of an agreement.
