Firefighter Dean James, Jr. has been selected as the “2018 Firefighter of the Year” for his meritorious display of job performance, specifically for his courageous actions while rendering aid to a man trapped inside a car in a canal. His heroic response shows that he takes his oath to protect people very seriously and his sense of duty is evident whether he is on or off the clock.
We thank Firefighter James, Jr. for representing the Coral Gables Fire Department and the City of Coral Gables so admirably and for making us proud.
