Firefighter Enrique Goll has been selected May’s Firefighter of the Month for his outstanding display of individual initiative surpassing job requirements and concern for the public, specifically for his courageous actions while rendering aid to a man choking on his dinner while dining out. Firefighter Goll didn’t hesitate to jump in for performance of a lifesaving Heimlich Maneuver while he was off duty enjoying dinner out with friends. Firefighter Goll’s quick action saved the life of the choking individual. Firefighter Goll used his medic skills as they should be and really made a difference.
Firefighter Goll takes his oath to protect people very seriously and selflessly. His sense of duty is evident whether he is on or off the clock. His actions in this situation were nothing short of heroic and he is truly deserving of this award.
