Congratulations to Firefighter Ronald Ayala, recipient of the City of Coral Gables “Firefighter of the Month Award,” for the month of June 2018

Firefighter Ronald Ayala has been selected June’s Firefighter of the Month for his outstanding display of individual initiative surpassing job requirements and concern for the public. Firefighter Ayala is always displaying his consideration and caring for the public on emergency calls and it shows in his delivery of patient care. Recently, Rescue 1 transported a STEMI patient to South Miami Hospital. The patient was having an MI and was immediately taken to the heart catheterization lab at South Miami Hospital, but his family was delayed. Firefighter Ayala showed an extensive amount of empathy and consideration for the patient and stayed with the patient until his family was able to be at his side. This example shows Firefighter Ayala’s dedication to the job and his behavior is how I would want my family to be treated. Firefighter Ayala is the epitome of the best behavior of the Coral Gables Fire Department at all times and his patient care and bedside manner are to be commended.
Firefighter Ayala has quietly and consistently been an outstanding example of the core values of the Coral Gables Fire Department; one of which is that he treats every person with dignity and respect - no matter what the situation! Firefighter Ayala should also be commended for the many, many hours of personal time and effort he has committed to his position on the Local 1210 Union Board. His positive attitude, innovation, and willingness to help make him worthy of this recognition.
