CORAL GABLES CULTURAL GRANTEE REQUESTS, UPDATES & REVIEWS:
There were no updates to report or discuss.
CORAL GABLES CULTURAL GRANT FY2017-2018:
The Board was reminded of the FY2017-2018 Cultural Grant review and scoring meeting taking place after the next Board meeting on Tuesday, December 5th.
ARTS ADVISORY PANEL NOMINATIONS:
Staff respectfully asked the item be deferred.
NEW BUSINESS:
Ms. Cathers informed the Board of a proposal sponsored by Mayor Valdes-Fauli requesting the temporary loan and installation of a public artwork by sculptor David Hayes. She gave a brief overview of the artist’s background stating that his work is in prominent collections including the Museum of Modern Art and that the artist’s work was recently featured in an exhibition at the Lowe Art Museum. An image of the proposed piece, Quadraped #2, was shown to the Board. The Board discussed where the work would be located and for how long. Staff conveyed the Mayor’s wish to place the artwork in the courtyard of City Hall for up to a year. The Board expressed concern about having the artwork installed during hurricane season; which staff responded would be addressed in the loan agreement by removing the work under the instruction of the artist’s studio. With no further discussion, the following motion was made:
Mr. Pantin made a motion recommending the temporary installation of David Haye’s Quadraped #2. Mr. Perez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS:
Staff will advise the Board when the neighborhood meeting is set to discuss the location of the Jean Ward sculptures.
DISCUSSION ITEMS:
Ms. Cathers reviewed the process for review of the FY2016-2017 Final Reports following the Board meeting at 9:00 a.m. She stated that the Board will go in order starting with the Coral Gables Based organizations, followed by the Community category and Cultural Series category grants. Board members were encouraged to share their comments with the Board prior to stating the score given. It was stated that if a grantee is present, Board members may ask questions of them.

FY2016-2017 FINAL REPORT REVIEW & SCORING:
Members of the community arrived and Dr. Roth called the FY2016-2017 Final Report Review & Scoring meeting to order at 9:05 a.m.
All scores, as noted below, were read aloud at the end of the meeting. With no further discussion, the following motion was made:
Mr. Pantin made a motion recommending the scores as submitted. Mr. Perez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
