Title

An Ordinance of the City of Coral Gables, Florida, amending Chapter 26 “Emergency Services”, of the City of Coral Gables Code to clarify definitions and processes; providing for a repealer provision, severability clause, codification, and providing for an effective date.

Body

Chapter 26 of the City of Coral Gables Code outlines the processes and procedures regarding registration of alarms for both residential and commercial properties within the City of Coral Gables.   It also sets out the process by which fees are charged for false alarms.

Changes to the existing ordinance are necessary in order to clarify certain existing definitions, add definitions for items that are missing, clarify certain procedures of the registration and false alarms fee collection process, and add an exemption for senior citizens.  Additionally, the City would like to switch the annual processing from a calendar year to a fiscal year, to better match other operations of the City.
