A Resolution approving an agreement with Gables Estates Club, Inc. for the design and implementation of Leucadendra Neighborhood Park.

There is a City-owned vacant parcel, approximately 11,000 square feet in size, located within the subdivision of Gables Estates, on Leucadendra Drive and designated as a park by the City. Gables Estates Club, Inc. has maintained the vacant parcel for well over 30 years.
Gables Estates has requested that the City design a park to meet the needs of the residents, cyclists, joggers, and walkers. The City has agreed to allocate up to $175,000.00 toward park design and improvements, an amount consistent with other new neighborhood parks throughout the City and Gables Estates desires additional amenities and finishes to be included in the park design and agrees to pay for these additional expenses. The construction of a park will contribute to safe and the public welfare because there are no sidewalks or open spaces for play within Gables Estates. The City will propose a park design that will incorporate different areas and different types of uses. The proposed agreement provides that Gables Estates will maintain the park after implementation of the City’s design.
