LOCAL HISTORIC DESIGNATION:

CASE FILE LHD 2017-009:  Consideration of the local historic designation of the property at 2320 Segovia Circle, legally described as Lots 16 & 17, Block 22, Coral Gables Section “B,” according to the Plat thereof, as recorded in Plat Book 5, at Page 111 of the Public Records of Miami-Dade County, Florida.

 

            A motion was made and seconded to approve the local historic landmark designation of the property located at 2320 Segovia Circle. (Ayes: 7, Nays: 0)

 

SPECIAL CERTIFICATES OF APPROPRIATENESS:

CASE FILE COA (SP) 2017-009:  An application for the issuance of a Special Certificate of Appropriateness for the property at 1019 Lisbon Street, a Local Historic Landmark, legally described as Lot 16, Block 59, Coral Gables Granada Section, according to the Plat thereof, as recorded in Plat Book 8, at Page 113 of the Public Records of Miami-Dade County, Florida. The application requests design approval for the construction of an addition and alteration to the existing auxiliary structure.

 

             A motion was made and seconded to approve the Special Certificate of Appropriateness for 1019 Lisbon Street with Staff conditions. (Ayes: 7, Nays: 0)

 

CASE FILE COA (SP) 2017-014: An application for the issuance of a Special Certificate of Appropriateness for the property at 1260 Messina Avenue, a Local Historic Landmark, legally described as Lot 3 and West ½ Lot 4,

Block 41, Coral Gables Granada Section Revised, according to the Plat thereof, as recorded in Plat Book 8, at Page 113 of the Public Records of Miami-Dade County, Florida. The application requests design approval for a two

story addition to the residence and sitework.

 

             A motion was made and seconded to approve the Special Certificate of Appropriateness for 1260 Messina Avenue with Staff conditions. (Ayes: 7, Nays: 0)

 

DISCUSSION ITEM:

800 Coral Way:

                             A motion was made and seconded to rescind the prior decision of the Historic Preservation Board due to the change in circumstances such as the deterioration of the brick in the past two years and  

                             rehear the case due to the time constraints of six months lapsing. (Ayes: 6, Nays: 1)

 

                             A motion was made and seconded to approve the grey cement tile on the residence located at 800 Coral Way, a contributing structure within the “Coral Way Historic District”. (Ayes: 6, Nays: 1)

 

                             A motion was made and seconded to approve the brick to be painted with Staff to administratively approve on the residence located at 800 Coral Way. (Ayes: 6, Nays:1)

             

                             A motion was made and seconded to have Staff bring back a report to the Board at the next Historic Preservation Board meeting with the location of allocated City funding to restore the windows at City Hall. (Ayes: 7, Nays: 0)

 

ITEMS FROM THE SECRETARY:

Historic Preservation Board Workshop: Ms. Spain informed the Board that they would be contacted to get together for a workshop on Historic Preservation and procedure. The date was to be determined.

 

BOARD ITEMS:

City Hall Windows: Chair Torre believed that there were funds in the City’s budget to restore the windows. He directed the Board to make a motion. Passing the gavel to Vice-Chair Silva, the following motion was made.

 

A motion was made and seconded to have Staff bring back a report to the Board at the next Historic Preservation Board meeting with the location of allocated City funding to restore the windows at City Hall. (Ayes: 7, Nays: 0)
