Congratulations to Firefighter Gabriel Arteaga, recipient of the City of Coral Gables “Firefighter of the Month Award,” for the month of May 2017.

Firefighter Arteaga has been selected May’s Firefighter of the Month for his outstanding display of individual initiative surpassing job requirements and expectations, specifically for his efforts with Recruit Class 16-02. Firefighter Arteaga excelled in the area of physical fitness and was very effective coaching Class 16-02 towards greater job success and future achievement. His work with the recruits involved stress management as well as dealing with the physical job requirements faced by firefighters on a daily basis. Due to Firefighter Arteaga’s hard work and dedication, there is no doubt that Recruit Class 16-02 will be better prepared both physically and mentally for their task ahead.
