Body

[Replace with BRIEF HISTORY/SUMMARY]

From time to time, public nuisances arise in the City which require prompt and effective action.  In order to address these matters the City Attorney’s Office often files actions in court.  While these actions are effective in providing good results, this Ordinance allows for the creation of a Nuisance Abatement Board to more efficiently deal the public nuisances through the use of an administrative process.  In accordance  with the Ordinance, the City’s Code Enforcement Board shall serve as the Nuisance Abatement Board and the City Commission may do so as well.  The Ordinance sets out the process to be followed and provides for fines in accordance with Section 893, Florida Statutes.
