Body

The purpose of this Invitation for Bids is to establish a contract with a successful bidder to deliver bulk liquid chlorine and muriatic acid within the agreed time frame, provide storage tanks to hold the sodium hypochlorite, and service the equipment when maintenance issues arise at the designated address.

On February 14, 2017, the Procurement Division of Finance formally advertised, issued and distributed the IFB for the Bulk Liquid Chlorine, Tank Rental and Swimming Pool Chemicals. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference was held on February 21, 2017. Nine (9) prospective firms that downloaded the IFB package from Public Purchase, the City’s web based e-Procurement service.

 

On March 15, 2017, two (2) bids were received in response to the IFB 2017.02.LS-1 from Hawkins, Inc. and Commercial Energy Specialist, Inc.

 

The lowest responsive responsible bidder for this project was determined to be Hawkins, Inc. with an estimated amount of $37,563 based on the quantities provided by the user department.  Quantities on this contract will be based on the unit price, capacity and subject to the available of funds and budgetary approval at the time of need. The Parks and Recreation Department and the Chief Procurement Officer recommend awarding the IFB contract to Hawkins, Inc. for Bulk Liquid Chlorine, Tank Rental and Swimming Pool Chemicals Services.
