A Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Cultural Development Board to appoint Lauran Hall to the Arts Advisory Panel to serve for the remainder of a two (2) year term, which began on June 1, 2015 and continues through May 31, 2017.

The Arts Advisory Panel was established for the purpose of making recommendations to the Cultural Development Board regarding the selection, creation, and acceptance of works of art. Qualifications state that panel members shall be professionals in the visual arts, museum administration, gallery administration, public arts administration, art history, design, architecture, landscape architecture or urban design and that the Arts Advisory Panel shall be recommended to the City Commission by the Cultural Development Board, with the City Commission having final approval over the members.
Due to a recent vacancy, on January 3, 2017, the Cultural Development Board reviewed resumes of recommended arts professionals and voted unanimously to recommend appointment of Lauren Hall, conservator at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, to the Arts Advisory Panel.
The current members of the Arts Advisory Panel are Silvia Cubiñá, executive director and chief curator of the Bass Museum of Art; Dr. Carol Damian, professor and former director of the Frost Art Museum; Dr. Jill Deupi, director of the Lowe Art Museum; Juan Roselione-Valadez, director of the Rubell Family Collection; John Stuart, professor and chair of the FIU Department of Architecture; and Freda Tschumy, prominent artist and sculptor.
