Title

A Resolution authorizing the acceptance and execution of a grant from the 2016 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program, to purchase soccer and baseball equipment for utilization by the Police Department as part of the Police Athletic League Camp Programs; and authorizing an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Annual Budget, to recognize the $5,682 grant funds as revenue, and to appropriate such funds to cover the grant expenditures.

Body

The Coral Gables Police Department intends to use grant funds to purchase soccer and baseball equipment for utilization by the Police Department as part of the Police Athletic League Camp Programs.  The equipment will consist of soccer goals, a baseball training machine, catcher’s sets, helmets, equipment bags and baseballs to be used by youth attending the soccer and baseball camps hosted by the Police Athletic League.

The State of Florida Department of Law Enforcement awarded the Coral Gables Police Department a 2016 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG-C) in the amount of $5,682 to purchase soccer and baseball equipment to be used by the Police Department as part of the Police Athletic League Camp Programs.

An amendment to the Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Annual Budget is required to recognize the $5,682 grant funds as revenue and to appropriate such funds to cover the cost of the grant expenditures.
