On October 1, 1995, The City of Coral Gables entered into an agreement with Miami- Dade County to provide for use of the County’s Solid Waste Management System.
The twenty-year Interlocal Agreement expires on October 1, 2015 and the County has offered a twenty-year renewal. This agreement allows the City to obtain the County’s lower contract rate for waste disposal, currently at $66.34 per ton; the non-contract rate is about $20 higher per ton.
