Title
A Resolution authorizing the acceptance and execution of a grant from the 2015 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program, to purchase and implement a video enhancement system for improved subject apprehension and courtroom testimony by the Police Department; and authorizing an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2014-2015 Annual Budget to recognize the grant funds as revenue and to appropriate such funds to cover the grant expenditures.
Body
The Coral Gables Police Department encounters property and person crimes that are caught on private video surveillance camera systems.  Each of these private camera systems have their own nuances of competency, use, misuse, degradation, clarity, and reliability.  Due to the varying capabilities of these systems, the Coral Gables Police Department has identified a need for a video enhancement system, which will improve subject apprehension and courtroom testimony.

The State of Florida Department of Law Enforcement awarded the Coral Gables Police Department a 2015 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant in the amount of $10,000.00 to purchase and implement a video enhancement system.

An amendment to the Fiscal Year 2014-2015 Annual Budget is required to recognize the $10,000.00 grant funds as revenue and to appropriate such funds to cover the cost of the grant expenditures.
