The nomination was submitted by Kevin Kinney, Parking Director, which provided the following:
"Lara serves as a Parking Enforcement Specialist. She is a dedicated employee that is willing to support parking operations by being flexible and filling in where needed. On occasion, Lara fills in for the Downtown Ambassadors and provides excellent service to visitors of Coral Gables.
I recently received an e-mail correspondence regarding Lara that had this to say: I'm a driver for UPS and I'm writing to let you know about something Mrs. Caro did to save my life. A couple of months back I was working in Coral Gables for UPS in my truck when I got very dizzy and started getting chest pains. I was slumped over on the passenger side not really knowing what was going on when Mrs. Caro came rushing to my aid and called 911. She stayed with me while the ambulance got to me. I was taken away and spent 5 days in the hospital. I'm sure that I am alive because of Mrs. Caro's quick action when I was in no shape to fend for myself. Thank you for having this great employee work for Coral Gables Parking Enforcement."
