A Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to award the Pump Station D Force Main Replacement contract to RP Utility & Excavation Corp., pursuant to Invitation For Bids (IFB) 2015.03.05, and Section 2-828 of the Procurement Code entitled “Contract Award”; and authorizing an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2014-2015 Annual Budget to recognize as revenue a transfer from Sanitary Sewer fund balance and appropriating such funds to cover the cost of the project.

.This project generally consists of construction and replacement of the existing 12- inch force main with 4,200 linear feet of 12 inch C900 PVC. The pipe runs from Pump Station D and ends at the intersection of SW 76th Avenue and Ponce Road, Coral Gables, Florida.
On March 05, 2015, the Procurement Division of Finance formally advertised, issued, and distributed the Pump Station D Force Main Replacement IFB 2015.03.05. On March 12, 2015, a non-mandatory pre-bid conference was held with eight (8) prospective bidders in attendance of the thirteen (13) prospective bidders who obtained the IFB package from the Procurement Division. On April 06, 2015, nine (9) bids were received in response to Pump Station D Force Main Replacement IFB 2015.03.05 from: GPE Engineering & General Contractor Corp.; RP Utility & Excavation Corp.; Maestre Construction, Inc.; Comtech Engineering, Inc.; Metro Equipment Service, Inc.; Southern Underground Industries, Inc.; Roadway Construction LLC.; V Engineering & Consulting Corp.; and Southeastern Engineering Contractors, Inc.
The lowest responsive responsible bidder for this project was determined to be RP Utility & Excavation Corp., with a total bid of $682,150.00. The Public Works Department and the Consultant concur with the recommendation to award RP Utility & Excavation Corp. the Pump Station D Force Main Replacement Project.
