The Coral Gables Police Department identified a need to engage with the public within the social media realm and institute better social media communication between the public and the Coral Gables Police Department to more efficiently educate and inform.
The State of Florida Department of Law Enforcement awarded the Coral Gables Police Department a Criminal Justice Records Improvement Grant in the amount of $6,584.00 to purchase the social media application.
An amendment to the Fiscal Year 2014-2015 Annual Budget is required to recognize the $6,584.00 grant as revenue and to appropriate such funds to cover the cost of the grant expenditures.
