Title
Congratulations to Kimberley A. Springmyer, Development Services Department, recipient of the "Employee of the Month Award," for the month of March 2015.
Body
The nomination was submitted by Troy Easley, Fire Department, which provided the following:

"My SUV was stolen from my driveway in front of my house on 12-18-2014. I cannot express enough the disheartening feeling to have not only my vehicle stolen, but also Christmas gifts for my wife's coworkers.

Approximately (5) days later my vehicle was involved in an auto accident, which was witnessed by Mrs. Kimberly Springmyer. The individual who stole my SUV was walking away from the scene of the accident when Mrs. Springmyer approached him and indicated that he should not leave. Once confronted, he ran away, prompting Mrs. Springmyer to request a police officer to the scene. Fortunately, some officers were in the vicinity, heard the call for assistance and responded in time to see the individual running from the scene. Eventually, he was caught, arrested and charged with grand theft auto and leaving the scene of an accident.

My letter to you is to express my desire to nominate Kimberley Springmyer for Employee of the Month for the following reasons. One, Mrs. Springmyer demonstrated a commitment to actively pursue the right course of action. She could very easily have called the accident in to the City's dispatchers and go on her way, while the perpetrator escaped. Two, without hesitation and possibly placing herself in harm's way she approached the individual and calmly indicated that he needed to remain on the scene. Rarely, do people get involved to try and make a positive difference. If Mrs. Springmyer had not taken this course of action, my car would not have been recovered. I would have had to buy a new car."
