Title
Audit of Uniform Crime Reporting Presentation (UCR).
Body
Due to public statements/concerns by citizens that the Coral Gables Police Department was underreporting burglaries, the Department proactively requested an independent audit of its crime reporting procedures.
On September 9, 2014, the City of Coral Gables requested a formal audit of the Coral Gables Police Department (CGPD) crime statistics reporting to be conducted by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
On September 22, 2014, a senior member of FDLE's Uniform Crime Reporting Office and a team of five auditors from the FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Audit Unit (AU) arrived at CGPD to conduct administrative interviews and a week-long audit of offenses reported to date by the Police Department.
On November 20, 2014 the completed audit report was received by the CGPD.
