Department Head Recommendation
For discussion.
Brief History
On September 23rd, 2014 the City Commission approved the Capital Improvement Budget which included 3.1 million dollars in fiscal year 2014-15 for the replacement of the City's aging fleet. Prior to this approval at previous budget hearings, there was significant discussion between the Commission and staff concerning the opportunities to make the City's fleet as "Green" and sustainable as practically feasible.

The City's fleet director, Steve Riley, who authored the National Government Green Fleet Award Criteria, is nationally recognized as an expert in Green Fleets.  Steve will be at the meeting to discuss the City's current fleet replacement practices and initiatives to ensure that our fleet meets the most appropriate and sustainable technology in addressing the City's needs.
