Title
A Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to award the Venetian Pool Renovation contract to Bejar Construction, Inc., pursuant to Request For Proposals (RFP) 2014.09.22, and Section 2-828 of the Procurement Code entitled “Contract Award.”

Body
This project involves renovations to the historic Venetian Pool located at 2701 DeSoto Boulevard and includes, but is not limited to, roof replacement, windows repair/replacement, cabinetry, pool repair, beach sand replacement, concrete work, drainage and other miscellaneous work.

On September 22, 2014, the Procurement Division of Finance formally advertised, issued, and distributed the Venetian Pool Renovation RFP 2014.09.22. On October 9, 2014, a non-mandatory pre-proposal conference along with a site visit was held with eighteen (18) prospective proposers in attendance. On October 30, 2014, eight (8) proposals were received in response to RFP 2014.09.22 with five (5) determined to be responsive and responsible, as follows: ABC Construction, Inc., Lunacon Construction Group Corporation, Carivon Construction Company, JCI International, Inc., and Bejar Construction Inc. (BCI). Three (3) proposers: T&G Constructors, USA Pools Construction, and Aquatic Management, Inc., were determined to be nonresponsive with the minimum requirements of the RFP and were not submitted for consideration to the Evaluation Committee.

On November 6, 2014, the Evaluation Committee convened to evaluate the five (5) responsive proposals with Bejar Construction, Inc., determined to be the most responsive and responsible proposer. It is the recommendation of the Evaluation Committee to award the Venetian Pool Renovation Project to Bejar Construction, Inc., in the amount of $773,365. Bejar Construction, Inc., also submitted the lowest price for the project among those submitting proposals.
