Firefighter Carlos Revilla was selected November's Firefighter of the Month for his meritorious display of job performance, specifically his response to a medical emergency involving an accident while off duty. Firefighter Revilla was first on scene at a boating accident where he found a person unconscious from a head injury. Firefighter Revilla proceeded to stabilize the patient's spine (hold C-spine) while doing a sample history before the City of Miami Rescue boat arrived. Firefighter Revilla then assisted City of Miami Rescue to load the patient. His quick response and expertise were instrumental in the positive outcome of this emergency call.
