Title
A Resolution authorizing staff to implement an extension of trolley service to Macfarlane Homestead Historic District as evaluated in the study conducted by Gannett Fleming dated July 4, 2014. (Deferred from the July 22, 2014 Meeting)
Body
On February 11, 2014, the City Commission directed staff to undertake action to extend trolley service to the Macfarlane Homestead Historic District.  On March 13, 2014, the City selected Gannett Fleming to conduct a study and develop an implementation plan for the service extension.  In addition, the consultant was directed to develop alternatives to the service extension for possible consideration by the City Commission.  These alternatives are offered in full consideration of the recommendations included in the Coral Gables Trolley Master Plan.

If this extension is approved it is anticipated that service to the Macfarlane Homestead Historic District will commence in the second half of Fiscal Year 2015 at a cost of approximately $100,000 for the six month period.  The purchase of an additional trolley at a cost of approximately $230,000 is recommended in order to implement the service.  These costs will be included in the Fiscal Year 2014-2015 Annual Budget.
