A Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to award the City 2 Pump Station Upgrade project to R&G Engineering, Inc., pursuant to Invitation for Bid (IFB) 2014.01.30 and Section 2-828 of the Procurement Code entitled "Contract Award".
 
Body
The City 2 Pump Station Upgrade project consists of construction and installation of submersible pump stations along with the installation of valves and appurtenances; tie-ins to the existing sewer system; by-pass pumping; maintenance of traffic; de-watering; mobilization and de-mobilizations; testing, surface restoration; all associated miscellaneous work and clean-up.  The City 2 Pump Station is located at 99 Alhambra Plaza and Galiano Street in Coral Gables, FL.
On January 30, 2014, the Procurement Division formally advertised, issued and distributed the City 2 Pump Station Upgrades Invitation for Bid (IFB) 2014.01.30.  
 
On February 12, 2014, a non-mandatory pre-bid conference was held followed by a site visit with fourteen (14) prospective bidders in attendance of the twenty-two (22) firms that obtained the bid document from the Procurement Division.
      
On March 11, 2014, six (6) responsive bids were submitted by:   R&G Engineering, Inc., Metro Express, Inc., GPE Engineering & General Contractor Corp., Metro Equipment Service, Inc., TLC Diversified, Inc., C&I Construction and Design Inc., along with a statement of no bid from Maestre Construction, Inc.
 
The Consulting Engineering firm for the project, Hazen and Sawyer, Inc. and the Public Works Department concur with the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to award to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, R&G Engineering, Inc., the City 2 Pump Station Upgrade project.
