A Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to "piggyback" a contract from Clay County, FL with Musco Sports Lighting, LLC, for lighting improvements for the Coral Gables Youth Center ball fields pursuant to Section 2-978 of the Procurement Code entitled "Use of Other Governmental Unit Contracts (Piggyback)".

On February 11, 2014, Clay County, FL awarded contracts to multiple companies to provide various equipment and amenities for County parks and playgrounds for three (3) years with an option to renew for two (2) additional years. One of the contracts awarded was to Musco Sports Lighting, LLC for sports lighting of athletic fields. The Clay County, FL contract may be piggybacked by the City under Section 2-978 of the Procurement Code entitled "Use of Other Governmental Unit Contracts (Piggyback)," as the contract is active and was competitively solicited.
The Public Works Department has requested the use of the Clay County, FL piggyback contract to make timely improvements to ball field lights at the Coral Gables Youth Center. The current lighting system at the Youth Center ball fields is also a Musco system. The ball field lighting project scope of work consists of the replacement of eighty (80) light fixtures, the replacement of five (5) light poles along with necessary spill and glare control, and controls and monitoring equipment along with appurtenant items. The total cost for the project is $430,000.
The Consulting Engineering for the project, AECOM Technical Services and the Public Works Department concur with the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to award Musco Sports Lighting, Inc., the Coral Gables Youth Center Ball Field Lighting Project.
