Title
A Resolution ratifying the collective bargaining agreement with the Teamsters Local Union 769, Affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, and the City of Coral Gables, for the period of October 1, 2013 through September 30, 2015.
Body
The City of Coral Gables (“City”) and the Teamsters Local Union 769, Affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (“Teamsters”), have been negotiating a successor collective bargaining agreement since February 2014. The City and Teamsters have reached an agreement for the period of October 1, 2013 through September 30, 2015. The Teamsters has ratified the agreement. Upon ratification of the agreement by the City Commission, the collective bargaining agreement would reflect the following material changes:
1. Article 5 (Employee Rights)
Employees to be provided with department standard operating procedures upon hire and the Union will be provided with any changes to the Personnel Rules and Regulations or department standard operation procedures that are applicable to the bargaining unit.
2. Article 7 (Wages)
City to provide a one-time, non-pensionable, pay supplement of 2% of base pay to be paid in the first full pay period following October 1, 2014.
City to provide an additional loyalty pay at 25 years of service.
3. Article 8 (Health Plans & Life Insurance)
Increase City contribution for health insurance to $712.01 which covers the July 2014 increase.
4. Article 11 (Annual Leave)
City to provide ability to sell 60 hours of annual leave in 2014-2015.
5. Article 19 (Notices to Union)
City’s notices to Union to be provided via email as opposed to mail.
6. Article 21 (Temporary Assignment to Higher Classification)
Holidays and jury duty shall not count as a break in service for purposes of determining whether an employee is entitled to pay for work in a higher classification.

7. Article 24 (Special Allowance)
City to provide 50% discount to employees for camps and other City programs...
